LIBBA Reminds Members to Enter Their Fish in the Annual Contests
With the fall season now upon us, LIBBA reminds all current members that they are eligible to enter their fish into our annual fishing contests. There are three contests that fish may be entered into. These include the Montauk and South Shore Derbies, that run concurrently with The LI Fisherman’s Montauk and South Shore Classics, and the season long Ken Karwick Memorial Contest.
The contest runs until Dec 15th. All weight slips must be postmarked by Dec 31st.
A LIBBA weigh master will be present at the conclusion of both derbies, with LIBBA Weigh Master signs on their vehicle. At the awards ceremonies a LIBBA representative will be present to collect your weight slips.
We also have additional categories that members can win prizes. These include:
Special recognition will be given for entered fish with weights as follows;
Striped bass over 50 pounds
Bluefish over 20 pounds
Weakfish over 15 pounds
LARGEST RELEASED STRIPED BASS
Special recognition award will be given to the angler who enters the largest released striped bass.
All anglers who enter fish that do not place in the contest will be entered into a special drawing. One anglers name will be drawn for a contest prize.
Remember, all entered fish must be witnessed by another LIBBA member. More information and down loadable weight slips can be found at the LIBBA website, http://libba.com/fishingcontests.html.
Not a LIBBA member? You can join on line at http://libba.com/membership/newmembership.html
These contests are great chances to win some nice LIBBA prizes. Good luck with the fall run!
